2006 CAFE Golf Tournament Names Title Sponsors

SLAMMER & SQUIRE (WORLD GOLF VILLAGE), ST AUGUSTINE, FL -

The Wood Development Company of Jacksonville along with CornerStone Homes, Lennar Homes, Standard Pacific Homes, and Woodside Homes - North Florida Builders were named as the title sponsors of The 2006 Community Alliance Funding Education Foundation Golf Tournament. The tournament is scheduled for Monday, January 16 th, 2006 at the Slammer and Squire at World Golf Village.

The Community Alliance Funding Education Foundation (CAFE) is a private organization supporting public education in St. Johns County. The CAFE Foundation is committed to improving the quality of education by raising funds for learning tools that may not be covered by grants, state, and federal funds. The proceeds raised from this year's tournament entry fees and private donations will go towards Mill Creek Elementary for the purchase of new classroom computers.

All of the event's title sponsors believe The 2006 CAFE Foundation Golf Tournament will be a wonderful fundraising opportunity that will benefit a truly worthy cause. In years past, the event has raised over $10,000 to support St. Johns County public education. It is a unanimous goal among the main sponsors to surpass that amount this year and set a high standard for many tournaments to come.

In addition to knowing their participation will benefit children's education, tournament players will have the privilege of playing on the world-class Slammer and Squire golf course. Additionally, The 2006 CAFE Foundation Golf Tournament will include range balls, boxed lunches, raffle prizes, and culminate with a catered awards party.

The mission of CAFE Foundation is to promote community support of St. Johns County public school students by enhancing the learning opportunities for our students, providing resources which support student learning, enhancing the arts in the educational lives of our students, supporting technology as a vital learning tool for students, and assisting the preparation of our students for the 21st century.

The Slammer and Squire golf course, along with the entire World Golf Village Complex, was designed to honor the great game of golf, its players, history, and future. Designed by Bobby Weed with player consultants Sam Snead and Gene Sarazen, this well manicured course preserves the pristine unspoiled wooded area, wetlands and natural beauty of the region. At 6,919 yards, the 18-hole (72 Par) course is a challenging layout that does not unfairly penalize the inexperienced player.
